WORSHIP
All are welcome!
We therefore take the Bible seriously. We believe that the Bible is God's
revelation to mankind and as such is very important. It tells us who we are,
who God is, and what God expects of us as human beings. We meet together to
worship God and hear the Bible read and preached on the Lord's Day, as well
as singing from different contemporary and new hymnbooks. We also encourage
each other to make the reading and study of God's Word a central part of our
lives. Come, join us and find out more about our Beliefs.
Our system of Church Government is Presbyterian. Anyone who feels called can
join our Sunday services, Communion, prayer groups, bible studies, Sunday
schools or take an active part in our outreach to our own members in despair
and loneliness, to vulnerable refugees and to all who are in need of
fellowship and moral and spiritual support.
Description of Service
The service mostly follows the standard form of Presbyterian worship
containing formal and informal parts. The supreme rule of faith, and life of
the Church, which is both Catholic since we believe in the holy catholic, we
are united Christians in Christ; Reformed, since we know that every day we
have to change according to the Bible; Baptist since we are baptized in the
name of our Saviour Jesus Christ; Pentecostal since the Holy Spirit work is
us to be servants of our Lord and to live a life according to the Word of
God, contained in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament.

MISSION STATEMENT
The Aim of our congregation is to worship God and proclaim the gospel of
God’s love; to help all who come into the church buildings complex to know
that this is a house of God. The Mission of our congregation is to bring
glory to God by making disciples of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:18-20) and by
demonstrating His love to a hurting world (Matthew 22:37-40) in the power of
the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8). Our objectives are to Evangelize, Teach, and
Serve.
Mission action
There is one God, who created the whole universe.
This one God exists in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Man’s main duty in life is to know, love and glorify God.
Everyone is guilty of sin and deserves to be punished in hell for ever.
God in his mercy has sent his Son, Jesus Christ, who is both God and
man, to be the Saviour of sinners.
Jesus was crucified for sinners, rose from the dead, and ascended into
heaven.
Those who trust in Christ are accepted by God and will go to heaven.
Only the Holy Spirit can bring people to faith.
Jesus will return at the Day of Judgment.
The Lordship of Jesus Christ.
The purpose of our congregation is being and making disciples of Jesus
Christ, who are integrated into the life and ministry of healthy growing
churches, committed to fulfilling the Great Commission and the doing of
God’s will on earth. We do believe that Jesus is Lord of both the church
and the individual. We believe that it is only through Jesus Christ’s
sacrificial death, burial and resurrection that a person can know
salvation or eternal life with God in heaven - there aren’t many paths
to God, only one. But belief in God means that what a Christian says is
also evident in his/her action- every area in the believer’s life and
the life of the church is to be subject to the Lord. God is the supreme
authority.
The Authority of the Scriptures.
We believe the scriptures are inspired by God. They are the only
perfect, supreme, infallible and sufficient standard of faith and
practice.
The Priesthood of the Believer.
We hold that ALL believers share as equals in the church, and, in turn,
have a priestly role toward each other. Every member is called to be a
minister. Differences in education, wealth, gender and so on do not
disqualify a person from service or from serving God through ministry to
others.
Inherent in the worth of each person is also the ability of the soul to
have direct access to God through Jesus Christ. We do believe that no
group has the right to force others to believe or worship as it does.
God has given all people freedom of choice and as such Christians have
championed the cause of religious liberty.
Church Membership.
To become a member we expect from you to search our Lord’s will, try to
live according to his expectations, serve His glory and love your
neighbours. To become a Christian requires a personal acknowledgement of
Jesus Christ as both Saviour and Lord. You cannot say Christ has saved
you from judgment unless you also allow him to control your life as
Lord. This act of faith and believer’s baptism must precede membership
in the local church.
Baptism.
We do baptize new born children and adults as well. The baptism of
an adult it is one of the first significant acts through which the
believer proclaims personal faith in Christ and is initiated into church
life and ministry.
The church
The Church is a community that meets regularly in a house of prayer, is
fed with spiritual food, strengthens and supports its members and goes
out into the world to shed the light of Christ. With this in mind the
Hungarian Congregation at St Andrew’s Church Kitchener aims to fulfill
its mission and thus to glorify God.

WHAT WE DO AT CHURCH
- In attempting to meet the Spiritual and Personal needs of our Congregation
and all who enter our buildings, we offer Sunday Morning Worship with the
Lord’s Supper around Advent, Christmas, Eastern, Pentecost, Thanksgiving.
- We do have Bible Study on every second Wednesday of the month at 6 pm,
when a small group meets for an hour to study God's Word and to discuss a
pre-determined portion of the Bible.
- We do have prayer group 30 minutes prior our Sunday service, at 2,30pm.
Our prayer meeting is held each Sunday prior to the worship service at
2,30pm. We focus specifically on giving thanks for who God is and what He is
doing in our lives and praying for specific needs within the congregation
and our families.
- We do have Sunday school for children during the Sunday service. Whilst we
believe that it the primary responsibility of parents to 'train and nurture'
their children in the ways of the Lord we count it a privilege to run four
Bible Classes each Lord's Day morning. The focus of these classes is on
giving everyone who attends a sound grounding in the Word of God. So in
effect the Bible Class is a mini theology lesson geared to build children
and adults alike in their knowledge of and love for God. Find out more about
the Bible classes.
We share also prayer, praise, fellowship, and hospitality consistent with
the teaching of Jesus Christ.

HOW CAN WE ACHIEVE THESE GOALS?
We will need the participation and resources of our members. The Church
needs our time, our talents as well as our money. We plan to work with
partner Churches and Organizations in Kitchener and other Hungarian
Congregations in Canada, mobilizing and sharing resources in order to
achieve our goals.

FUND-RAISING EVENTS
We do accept donations from those who would like to donate for glory of God
to sustain our congregation and our Mission.
We do organize suppers cooking Hungarian specialities. We do have sausage
making days when we collect the orders and prepare the Hungarian sausage.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:16
By grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves it is the
gift of God. Ephesians 2:8. Whosoever will, let him take the water of life
freely. Revelation 22:17
